Matthew “Semi The Jedi”Semelsberger

Matthew Semelsberger is a professional mixed martial artist, who fights out of Pennsylvania. He currently competes in the welterweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Growing up in an athletically gifted family, he was exposed to various sports like football and wrestling at a young age. At the age of 18 he started practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and eventually made his professional MMA debut in 2013.

He competed for various regional promotions including Ring Of Combat, CFFC and Cage Fury Fighting Championships before signing with Bellator MMA in 2016. He fought five times under their banner before being released by them due to contractual issues. After that he signed with Brave CF where he made two successful appearances before transitioning to UFC on June 25th 2019 when he received a four-fight contract with them.

Semelsberger’s UFC debut took place against Carlton Minus at The Ultimate Fighter 28 Finale on November 9th 2018 which ended within seven seconds after connecting an overhand right onto Minus’ chin that put him down unconscious leading to the referee stoppage victory for Semelsberger.
