BIOGRAPHY
Antonina Shevchenko is a professional mixed martial artist who currently competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Born in Kyrgyzstan, Antonina and her sister, Valentina—also an MMA fighter—were raised by their parents to be strong and independent. This would soon become apparent as Antonina’s prowess at Muay Thai kickboxing began to grow.
Before joining the UFC, Antonia had already competed in several national competitions throughout Europe and South America. She won multiple tournaments including a gold medal in the IFMA World Muay Thai Championships held in Bangkok, Thailand. Her experience competing outside of her home country gave her invaluable insight into how she should handle situations under pressure when fighting on a world platform.
In 2017, following a year-long stint as part of Invicta FC’s Flyweight division roster—where she won two fights out of three appearances—Antonina made the switch to the larger Ultimate Fighting Championship where her star has continued to rise ever since. In 2019 she earned herself an impressive 3rd place finish at The Ultimate Fighter 28 Finale event held in Las Vegas which solidified her place amongst some of the biggest names currently competing within women’s MMA today; with wins over veteran fighters Roxanne Modafferi and Lucie Pudilova along with exciting bouts against esteemed opponents such as Jéssica Andrade & Katlyn Chookagian proving that ‘The Panther’ is not one to shy away from tough competition.
At present day Antonia holds a record of 8-2-0 while competing within UFC’s Women’s Flyweight Division; prompting experts & pundits alike to sit up and take notice of this highly talented athlete who has shown no signs whatsoever that she is ready or willing to slow down anytime soon! With back-to-back victories over both Ariane Lipski & Andrea Lee secured already so far this season it certainly looks like we can expect even more great performances from ‘The Panther’ for many years yet come!
