BIOGRAPHY
Andrea Lee is an American mixed martial artist who currently competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) flyweight division. She began her professional career in 2014 and has amassed a record of 11-3 since then. Lee has won numerous championships, including the Legacy Fighting Alliance Women’s Flyweight Title and Invicta FC Flyweight Title.
Lee was born on April 2, 1988 in San Antonio, Texas and grew up with two older brothers in rural Louisiana. Growing up, she played several sports such as basketball and softball before eventually participating in kickboxing classes at age 15 to help lose weight. This lead to her discovering Brazilian Jiu Jitsu which she practiced regularly for the next six years; during this time period, she also competed frequently at regional tournaments across Texas and Oklahoma where she established a strong reputation as one of the top grapplers from that area.
In 2014, Lee decided to make her professional debut after making contact with local MMA promoters; within just three fights she had already earned herself an invitation to join Invicta FC – one of the world’s leading female MMA promotions. In 2016, Lee went on to win the LFA Women’s Flyweight title by defeating Jamie Thorton via unanimous decision; shortly afterwards she was signed by UFC and made her promotion debut against Kalindra Faria at UFC Fight Night 123 where she secured a split decision victory over her opponent. In 2019 Lee won both LFA 33 Superfight Championship & WBC Muaythai International Superfly Title by defeating Priscila Cachoeira & Nadia Rainer respectively; this marked a significant milestone for Andrea as it proved that not only did have skills but that could compete successfully at higher levels throughout multiple disciplines within combat sports industry
Since joining UFC in 2018 Andrea has fought four times going 3-1 (her only loss coming via submission against Gillian Robertson). Most recently cutting down from bantamweight division(135lbs) , Andrea now competes under fly weight division(125lbs) which is viewed as having much more depth than other divisions due lighter body type requirements .In March 2020 ,Lee faced off against Roxanne Modafferi at UFC Fight Night 170 securing split decision victory – solidifying Andrea ambitious goal of becoming a multi disciplined fighter by competing across multiple divisions/organizations
As someone who looks up to Ronda Rousey & Joanna Jedrzejczyk ,Lee is determined to set new standards for women within combat sport industry .Her current focus lies upon securing another win or two before potentially challenging for championship belt later this year . With determination hard work ethic ,there’s no doubt we will be seeing more success stories involving Ms lee very soon !
