Alexa Grasso is a Mexican mixed martial artist and former professional boxer. She currently competes in the strawweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), having previously fought for Invicta FC, LFC, and World Fighting Championships. Grasso was born on August 9th, 1993 in Guadalajara, Jalisco Mexico. She grew up with her two siblings and parents who were both teachers by trade. Growing up she had an interest in sports from a young age, playing soccer as a child before taking up boxing at the age of 12 after being inspired by watching fights on TV with her father.
Grasso’s first amateur fight came at the age of 17 when she took part in an amateur Muay Thai kickboxing tournament which she won via unanimous decision. After this success it didn’t take long for Grasso to turn pro where she made her debut aged 19 in 2012 competing against Diana Gonzalez Alvarez winning by TKO due to punches within three rounds earning herself “Knockout of The Night” honors at KOC 12 (King Of The Cage). This victory propelled Grasso onto become one of Mexico’s most respected female fighters having won numerous titles such as Invicta FC Atomweight Champion and KOTC Strawweight Champion all before transitioning into MMA professionally in 2014 under LFC promotion eventually joining UFC without any losses or draws to date earning herself Fight Of The Night honors for her performance against Tatiana Suarez at UFC Fight Night: Bermudez vs Korean Zombie finishing out 2016 undefeated with 7 wins across 5 different promotions
In 2017 Alexa signed a multi-fight deal with UFC becoming only the second Mexican women fighter ever signed to compete alongside Mariana Morais making history and inspiring others throughout Latin America . Although not having much luck since then losing 3 out of 4 bouts since joining , Alexa has still managed some impressive performances including win over Randa Markos during their bout at UFC 239 despite being knocked down twice earlier in round one showing not just mental toughness but also resilience even when facing adversity which are key traits that make Alexa stand out amongst other fighters inside octagon . She will look to recapture winning form as we head towards 2021 where hopefully fans can see “The Greatest” best performances yet!
