Mateusz Gamrot Bio
Mateusz Gamrot is a Polish Mixed Martial Artist who currently competes in the UFC’s Lightweight Division. He was born on June 3, 1989 in Gdynia, Poland.
Gamrot began martial arts training as a child and went on to train judo and jiu-jitsu full-time as an adult. He made his professional MMA debut in 2009 at the age of 20, quickly establishing himself as one of the best lightweights in Europe. Over the next decade he fought for various promotions including KSW and Cage Warriors where he won both their lightweight titles before signing with the UFC in 2019.
As an amateur he earned three Polish National Judo Championships between 2006-2008 while competing at U90kgs (under 90 kilograms). As a professional MMA fighter his record stands at 17 wins (8 by knockout) against only 2 losses en route to becoming one of Europe’s top talents. From 2011 to 2017, Garry fought strictly for KSW – winning 8 out of 9 bouts – culminating with him capturing their lightweight championship belt after defeating Mansour Barnaoui via decision at KSW 42: Gamrot vs Barnaoui 2 (2018).
He also became Cage Warrior’s lightweight champion when he defeated Nad Narimani via unanimous decision at CWFC 73: Gambot vs Narimani (2017).
In 2019 Gamrot signed with Ultimate Fighting Championship and made his official debut against Arnold Allen at UFC Fight Night 147: Till vs Masvidal which ended up being declared a “no contest” due to accidental strikes thrown by Allen outside the sanctioned time frame during round 1; this fight would have been victory number 7 for Mateusz had it not ended prematurely. His most recent fight was against Guram Kutateladze where Mateusz earnieded a split decision victory via judges scorecards confirming Mateusz presence amongst MMA elite fighters worldwide..
Outside of fighting he owns his own gym called “Gryf Team”.The Gym focuses on providing high quality training for all levels from beginner Muay Thai kickboxing classes all away to advanced level wrestling classes . In addition ,he runs seminars that focus on teaching particular techniques or strategies that can be used during fights .
