Jeremy Stephens is an American professional mixed martial artist currently competing in the featherweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He was born on May 26, 1986 in Des Moines, Iowa, and his parents are from Mexican descent.

Stephens began his career as a wrestler at Iowa Central Community College before moving to Team Quest where he trained under Randy Couture and Matt Lindland for two years. After training with Team Quest for two years, Stephens decided to pursue a career as a professional fighter and made his debut in 2007. Throughout his MMA career he has fought for various organizations including Bellator MMA, WEC and Strikeforce.

Throughout Stephen’s 14-year career, he has had over 30 fights which include multiple wins via knockout or submission. His most notable win came against former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis where Stephens won by unanimous decision at UFC 229 in 2018. He also holds victories over Josh Emmett at UFC on Fox 28 (2018), Renan Barao at UFC Fight Night 88 (2016) and Doo Ho Choi at The Ultimate Fighter 24 Finale (2016). In addition to these wins Stephens also owns KOs of Rony Jason at The Ultimate Fighter Brazil 3 finale 2014) Dennis Bermudezat TUF 21 Finale 2015) along with losses to Yair Rodriguezat Road FC 19(2011), Cub Swansonat WEC 41(2009) and Frankie Edgar UFN 33(2012).
In 2019 Jeremy was handed down a six month suspension due unprocessed paperwork but returned shortly after this suspension was over,. Also that same year he suffered another loss by split decision from Calvin Kattar during their fight which took place during the main event of UFC Fight night 153. Despite taking this loss there were still positive moments from it when numerous news outlets praised him for being able to go toe-to-toe with Katter who had been considered one of the best Featherweights on the planet prior to their match up .

Stephens continues to be active within both the sport of MMA along with entertainment related activities such as providing commentary on ESPN Plus’ “Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show” , modeling apparel lines alongside athletes like Jon Jones , acting credits including roles on “Match Maker: A Mockumentary Series” & TV shows such as “The Voice.” Timothy Skyler Dunning Photography stated that “Jeremy is an amazing person inside & out” while talking about working alongside him which speaks volumes about how well respected & liked he is among colleagues both inside & outside of combat sports circles

At 34 years old Jeremy continues compete within tje featherweight class & despite only having 1 win since 2017 looks like will continue do so whether its in cage or away from it .
