Victor Bolden's Biography

Victor Vaughn Bolden Jr., born on April 4, 1995, is a renowned American football wide receiver. A free agent as of his last known status, Bolden carved a niche for himself in the world of sports right from his college days at Oregon State. His professional football trajectory saw a promising start in 2017 when he joined San Francisco 49ers, despite being undrafted.

Bolden’s dedication to the game culminated in 2022 when he shone brightly with the Stallions, securing an MVP award at the Championship game against the Philadelphia Stars. Shortly after in the same year, he signed another contract with the San Francisco 49ers on May 4th. When pitted against the Seattle Seahawks during Week 2, Bolden proved his potential with 71 total yards across three kickoff returns during his NFL debut.

Unfortunately, December 2017 witnessed a setback in Bolden’s career as he incurred an ankle injury that placed him on injured reserve. The following year, on June 1, Bolden faced suspension for the first four games of the season due to a violation of the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances.

Later that year, in October, the San Francisco 49ers waived Bolden, but he was shortly re-signed to the practice squad. This eventually opened a window of opportunity as he was signed by the Buffalo Bills off the 49ers practice squad in December. However, after a brief stint, he was waived in August the next year.

Bolden’s journey continued when, in December 2019, he joined the Detroit Lions practice squad. Only a month later, he signed a reserve/future contract. The following year started with a series of ups and downs, as Bolden was waived by the Lions, re-signed to the practice squad, released and then re-signed again all within the span of a few months.

In 2021, uncertainty clouded Bolden’s career once more as he was waived in August, only to be selected by the Birmingham Stallions in the 2022 USFL draft. This marked a pivotal point in his career as he was named as a Wide Receiver and Special Team All-USFL Team in June 2022.

The crown jewel in his career came when he won the MVP award at the USFL championship game for his instrumental role in the Stallions victory over the Philadelphia Stars. This victory led to a contract with the Arizona Cardinals, which however was short-lived as he was waived, injured and eventually released within a short span.

Towards the end of 2022, Bolden joined the Denver Broncos’ practice squad and signed another reserve/future contract. Despite being waived in March 2023, he soon found his way back into the field, signing with the Arlington Renegades of the XFL.

However, in a twist of fate, Bolden was released from his contract in August 2023. A quick contract signing and release from the Houston Texans led him back to the Stallions again in September 2023. But, as fate would have it, Bolden found himself without a team on March 21, 2024.
