Trey Benson

Kurtrell “Trey” Benson, widely acknowledged as an accomplished professional American football player, was born on the 23rd of July, 2002, in the rural town of Greenville, Mississippi. Early in his life, Benson displayed inherent athletic potential that was cultivated and blossomed into an evident natural talent in the domain of football.

Benson started his high school career at O’Bannon High School but shifted in his final two years to St. Joseph Catholic High School, a decision encouraged by his innate drive to further his football skills. During his tenure at St. Joseph, his remarkable talent was brought to the forefront as he aggregated an astonishing 3,616 yards along with 48 touchdowns in his final two seasons.

Upon graduating from high school in 2020, he committed to playing college football at the University of Oregon. In a significant turn of events, Benson transferred to Florida State University after his season with the Oregon Ducks. In his initial months at Florida State, he shared playtime with teammates Lawrance Toafili and Treshaun Ward. However, his grit, determination, and raw talent set him apart, allowing him to emerge as the lead back.

His impressive performances with the Florida State Seminoles propelled him into the professional football league. Recognizing his skills and potential, the Arizona Cardinals selected Benson in the third round of the 2024 NFL draft. Drafted as the 66th overall pick, he joined the Cardinals’ lineup ready to make an impact on the biggest stage of American football.

Before the onset of the 2024 NFL season, on July 18, 2024, Benson signed a four-year rookie contract with the Cardinals, a testament to the Cardinals’ faith in him and a significant step in his professional career. In Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season, one could finally see Benson sporting the maroon and gold of the Cardinals – on the field under the beaming floodlights, in front of thousands of spectators baying for some high-octane football action.

In his debut NFL game, despite being a rookie, Benson was awe-inspiring. He rushed for 13 yards with only three attempts and also recorded a reception for 5 yards – a mere glimpse of his potential. In the tenth week of the 2024 season, Benson reached new heights. In a crucial game against the New York Jets, he smashed 62 yards on ten carries, participated in two receptions totaling 25 yards, and rounded it off with an emphatic victory for the Cardinals ending at 31-6.
