Andre Chachere Bio
Andre Chachere is an American football defensive back from Fresno, California, who played cornerback, nickel back and safety during his college and professional career. He attended Clovis West High School before playing four seasons at San José State from 2014 through 2017. The Spartans listed him at 6 feet and 200 pounds, and he earned first-team All-Mountain West recognition in 2016. He was also a communication studies major.
Chachere entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Houston Texans in 2018. He later spent time with the Detroit Lions, Arizona Cardinals, Carolina Panthers and Indianapolis Colts before joining the Philadelphia Eagles. His versatility allowed him to contribute in the secondary and on special teams, where he developed a role as a defensive-back reserve and coverage player. The NFL also lists his birth date as February 10, 1996, and his college as San José State.
On September 12, 2024, Jacksonville announced that it had signed Chachere to its practice squad as a safety. Jacksonville later recorded his release from the practice squad on October 7, 2024. Because that transaction is the latest directly verified team record in the retrieved sources, Chachere should be described as a former Jaguars practice-squad member rather than as a current Jacksonville player.
