Ty’Son Williams graced the world with his birth on September 4, 1996. His fervor for American football led him to become a professional athlete and renowned running back, now a free agent awaiting his next adventure in the NFL.

Ty’Son’s path to professional football started at Crestwood High School. He was a four-star recruit showing extraordinary potential that caught the attention of several universities. Choosing to explore his potential, Williams signed on with North Carolina, setting the stage for a path that would ultimately lead to the NFL. After one year with the North Carolina Tar Heels, he transferred to South Carolina, capturing attention as an unbeatable Gamecock running back.

Over two seasons with the Gamecocks, Williams showed off his powerful rushing prowess, racking up 799 yards and leaving spectators in awe. Yet, his endless thirst for football mastery led him to complete his graduate studies and enter the transfer portal. Despite generous offers from Fresno State and Marshall, Williams decided to join the BYU Cougars.

His tenure at BYU marked significant highlights in his college football career. In his first game against Utah, Williams was the starting running back, providing an impressive average of 6.4 yards per carry in seven attempts. The following week, he demonstrated his durability and tenacity, rushing 94 yards and setting a game-winning touchdown in a nail-biting 29-26 double-overtime victory over Tennessee. However, after only four games, misfortune struck when Williams suffered an ACL injury against Washington. Despite the setback, he showcased his resilience and tallied impressive numbers, averaging 5.4 yards per carry and three touchdowns.

Following his college career, Williams transitioned into professional football. Though going undrafted in the 2020 NFL draft did not deter his passion. On August 28, 2020, the Baltimore Ravens spotted his potential and signed him. Yet, his journey with the Ravens had its tumultuous moments – he was waived early in September only to be re-signed to the team’s practice squad the following day.

Despite this, Williams’s potential was recognized, as he was elevated to the active roster for the Ravens’ week 12 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. His journey with the Ravens took an interesting twist when injuries to key team members like J.K. Dobbins, Justice Hill, and Gus Edwards paved the way for Williams to start in the season opener against the Las Vegas Raiders.

In that game, Williams seized his opportunity, demonstrating unshakeable resolve by covering 65 yards in nine carries and dashing 35 yards for his first professional touchdown. Despite the Raven’s eventual loss in overtime, Williams proved his worth in the field.

However, Williams’s journey with the Ravens took a downturn quickly, leading him to lose his starting role to Latavius Murray. On May 10, 2022, he became a free agent, a change that instantly opened up new opportunities. As fate would have it, Williams regained stride and began a stint with the Indianapolis Colts and, later, the Arizona Cardinals.

Williams’s tenure with the Cardinals saw him advancing from the practice squad to the active roster before his release on August 29, 2023.
