Marquez Reshard Valdes-Scantling (MVS), born on October 10, 1994, is a renown American professional football player. His most recent placement is as a wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills in the National Football League (NFL). A formidable athlete on the field, his career boasts remarkable achievements including bagging the Super Bowl championship not once but twice with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2022.

Valdes-Scantling’s love for football took root in his high school years at Lakewood High School, where he participated in the school’s football program. He demonstrated exceptional skills as a wide receiver, securing 50 receptions for 800 receiving yards and 14 receiving touchdowns in his senior year – a feat which paved the way for his college football career.

Indicating promising potential from early on, he attended North Carolina (NC) State to play college football from 2013. His tenure there lasted until 2014 when he transferred to South Florida. However, MVS had to sit out the 2015 season due to the standard transfer regulations.

Signing a lucrative three-year contract worth $30 million with the Kansas City Chiefs, he showcased his top-notch sportsmanship by helping the Chiefs defeat the Cincinnati Bengals. This trajecotry led him and the Chiefs to triumph in Super Bowl LVII over the Philadelphia Eagles.

However, the 2023 season seemed slightly off the pace for him, catching a career-low of 21 passes. This did not deter him, though. He sprung back to form during the AFC Championship Game, and eventually helped lead the team to another victory in Super Bowl LVIII against the San Francisco 49ers. Unfortunately, a few months later in February 2024, MVS was released.

Nonetheless, his professional journey was far from over. In May that year, MVS inked a one-year contract with the Buffalo Bills, ready to make his mark once again on the football field.
