Andrew Booth Jr., born on September 28, 2000, is a professional American football player with a noteworthy career in both college and professional football. He is currently utilizing his impressive skills as a cornerback for the Dallas Cowboys, who form part of the esteemed National Football League (NFL). However, his story began at Archer High School in Lawrenceville, Georgia.

During his time at Archer High School, Booth’s remarkable talents began to shine through in his junior year, where his performances earned him all-county, all-region, and all-state honors. His senior year was further conscionable, seeing him receive all-state, county back of the year, and region specialist of the year honors. Earning a prestigious honor, he got to play in the Under Armour All-America Game in 2019. This five-star recruit made the momentous decision to commit to Clemson University, signaling the start of his college football journey.

Booth’s Clemson college football tenure was a highly successful one. Over three years as a starter, he managed to amass 162 tackles, an impressive 13 interceptions, 44 passes defensed, 4 forced fumbles, with 22 receptions resulting in 557 yards, 4 touchdowns, 3 punt return touchdowns, and one blocked field goal. As a true freshman in 2019, he participated in 13 games, wrapping the season up with 6 tackles and a solo pass defensed.

His sophomore year in 2020 saw him thrive as Booth started four of the 11 games he played that season. He managed to contribute 30 tackles, two interceptions, 4 passes defensed, one sack, and a fumble recovery that he returned for an impressive 21-yard touchdown. His sterling performances saw him receive the ACC Defensive Back of the Week honor, marking a highlight in his college football career.

His junior year was no exception to the streak of excellence as he played and started in all 11 games. His season’s stats included 39 tackles, 3 of them resulting in a loss for the opposing team, 3 interceptions, and 5 passes defensed. Displaying a dynamic and tenacious performance, Booth again wowed his audience with 9 tackles against Boston College and 2 interceptions against the University of South Carolina.

Making the decision to forgo his senior season, he declared for the NFL Draft on January 9, 2022. Booth was then drafted by the Minnesota Vikings as the 42nd pick in the 2022 Draft. His rookie year in the NFL was characterized by 12 tackles in 6 games, with one game seeing him start, even though it was somewhat marred by an unfortunate quad injury that saw him declared inactive for weeks 2 to 4.

Despite the setback, he made a triumphant comeback in Week 11, starting against the Dallas Cowboys, where he bagged a game-high 9 tackles. However, another injury saw him placed on the injured reserve list, this time due to a knee problem on November 30, 2022.

The year 2023 saw him participate in 17 games with one start, adding 8 tackles and a pass defensed for the season, with a notable start in the season finale against the Detroit Lions. On August 9, 2024, Andrew Booth Jr’s NFL journey took another exciting turn. He was traded to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for Nahshon Wright, a switch that promised new opportunities for this talented cornerback.
