Lachavious Simmons, born on the 12th of September, 1996, is an enigmatic and formidable figure in the world of American professional football. A native of Selma, Alabama, Simmons has paved his path to play as an offensive tackle in top national football teams. After applying his craft as a phenomenally talented collegiate player at Tennessee State, Simmons transitioned to become a free agent in the football industry.

While at Tennessee State, Simmons showcased his undoubtable prowess on the football field. His junior year in 2018 saw him starting six games at the left guard position, a position that helped him build his skills for a successful career. 2019 proved to be an equally successful year as Simmons advanced to start 12 games both as a left guard and left tackle. His performances helped his team to execute a potent offense that averaged a remarkable 400 yards per game. His remarkable performances earned him the honour of being a first-team selection in the all-Ohio Valley Conference.

Simmons also showcased his football skills and his ability to perform under pressure by taking part in the College Gridiron Showcase and the Hula Bowl all-star game. His performances further cemented his reputation as an emerging football player to watch out for.

In the seventh round of the 2020 NFL draft, Simmons was selected as the 227th pick by the Chicago Bears, a dream come true for any collegiate footballer. Simmons went on to sign a four-year rookie contract with the team on July 21.

Despite facing a minor setback, with the Bears waiving him off the final roster cuts on September 5, Simmons continued to persevere and showed his resilience. He was added to the practice squad the next day, and eventually, owing to his dedication and hard work, he was promoted to the active roster on November 3, 2020. Multiple trials and tribulations followed, including a brief placement on the reserve/COVID-19 list by the team on November 8, 2020. However, Simmons remained unfazed and returned to active duty on November 20.

Later, in 2022 Simmons faced a career-shift. He was waived by the Bears on August 30, and signed to the practice squad the following day. However, on September 12, he was released by the team. A swiftly changing series of events led him to sign with the practice squad of the Arizona Cardinals on September 20, 2022. The complex dynamics of the Cardinals team saw him placed on the practice squad/injured list by October 5. After a period of recovery, he was activated from the practice squad/injured list on December 28, 2022, followed by the signing of a reserve/future contract on January 11, 2023.

Unfortunately, Simmons faced another hurdle as he was waived by the Cardinals on August 21, 2023. Yet, not to be deterred, he managed to re-enter the football field with the Tennessee Titans practice squad, joining their ranks on November 7, 2023. Following the conclusion of the 2023 regular season, the Titans signed Simmons to a reserve/future contract, once again attesting to his unassailable talent and versatility.
