Jackson Barton's Biography

Born on August 8, 1995, Jackson Barton is a professional American footballer known for his offensive tackle position with the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL). Like many professional footballers, Barton’s journey began during his college years at Utah, where he rigorously displayed his exceptional skills, gaining the attention of professional teams in the NFL. His diligent work ethic, coupled with his natural aptitude for the game, resulted him being drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL draft.

Unfortunately, his journey with the Colts was somewhat brief, as he was waived on August 31, 2019. Despite this setback, Barton’s career was far from over. He was signed to the practice squad the very next day before being signed by the Kansas City Chiefs off the Colts’ practice squad on November 11, 2019.

Joining the Chiefs was a turning point for Barton, as he was part of the team that won Super Bowl LIV after an unforgettable match against the San Francisco 49ers, which ended with a thrilling 31-20 win. After this success, however, Barton was surprisingly waived on September 5, 2020.

His talent, nevertheless, did not go unnoticed, and on September 6, 2020, Barton was snapped up off waivers by the New York Giants. His career took an upward turn as he performed well enough to earn a contract extension with the Giants on January 4, 2021.

Barton’s tenure with the Giants was marked by a series of contracts and releases. On August 31, 2021 he was waived but was re-signed to the practice squad the next day. Not before long, on September 21, 2021, he was signed off the Giants’ practice squad by the Las Vegas Raiders. During his time with the Raiders, Barton appeared in two significant games; against the Washington Commanders in Week 13 and against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 14.

By October 1, 2022, Barton was waived by the Raiders, then re-signed to the practice squad, before finally being signed to the active roster on October 26, 2022.

Barton’s career trajectory eventually led him to the Arizona Cardinals. He signed with the team on April 14, 2023, but was released on August 29, 2023, only to be re-signed to the practice squad. Demonstrating his perseverance and never-say-die attitude, Barton signed a reserve/future contract on January 8, 2024.

August 27, 2024, saw Barton experiencing another professional setback when he was waived by the Cardinals, but proving his resilience once again, he returned to the practice squad.

Barton isn’t the only athlete in the family. His younger brother, Cody, made a name for himself in football as well when he was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Barton’s sister, Dani, is also a successful athlete but in a different sport; she is a valued member of the United States women’s national volleyball team.
Surely, with a family so invested in sports, Barton’s story doesn’t end here. His professional journey is an inspiring testament to the resilience that all athletes must possess, not merely to stay within their respective games, but also to accomplish the heights of success that Barton has experienced throughout his intriguing career.
