Born on July 20th, 1998, D’Marco Carnelius Jackson is known to fans and peers alike as a powerhouse on the American football field. Professionally, he plies his trade as a linebacker for the New Orleans Saints, one of the renowned franchises in the National Football League (NFL). His journey to the NFL started years before, in the classrooms and football fields of Appalachian State University.

Interestingly, Jackson’s relationship with football began in Spartanburg, a town in South Carolina where he was raised. Enclosed within the walls of Broome High School, Jackson’s potential as a football player became evident. As a senior, his impressive performances saw him end up as a finalist for the prestigious South Carolina’s Mr. Football award. With each passing season, Jackson became better, delivering more for his team, notching up 60 tackles and three sacks in his sophomore year. His junior season became a defining moment; he achieved 87 tackles, two interceptions, two-and-a-half sacks, and earned a position in the second-team All-Sun Belt Conference. He made both his interceptions in a memorable 45-17 triumph over Arkansas State.

Playing all the 14 games of the season, a career-high 119 tackles, six sacks, and a forced fumble marked Jackson as an exceptional talent in the league.
