Explore NFL player picksCarlton Davis III Bio
Carlton Davis III is an active NFL cornerback for the New England Patriots as of September 30, 2026. The Patriots signed him as an unrestricted free agent from Detroit on March 13, 2025, following his 2024 season with the Lions. Davis began his NFL career after Tampa Bay selected him in the second round, 63rd overall, of the 2018 NFL Draft. He wears No. 7 for New England and is listed at 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds.
Born December 31, 1996, Davis is a Miami native who played defensive back at Auburn from 2015 through 2017. He became a starter as a true freshman and later earned All-SEC recognition before entering the NFL. His career has included six seasons with the Buccaneers, a Super Bowl LV championship with Tampa Bay, a 2024 trade to Detroit, and his move to New England in 2025. Davis has built his role around outside cornerback play, using his length to challenge receivers and contest throws; the Patriots cite his consecutive standout seasons as a pass defender early in his career.
