Brevin Allen's Biography
Brevin William T. Allen, an American football player, was born on the 22nd of September, 2000. As a free agent, Allen holds an impressive career history both as a college player and in his professional tenure. His football journey, which has taken him through college leagues, to the NFL, and beyond, holds numerous accolades, records, and milestones.
Allen grew up in North Carolina, attending Northeast Guilford High School in McLeansville. He excelled in both football and basketball, demonstrating his athletic prowess and commitment to sports. In his senior year, he made a name for himself in football, winning all-conference and all-area titles. Despite his success, Allen was not a top-ranked recruit but committed to the Campbell Fighting Camels, an FCS team, where his career would truly start to take shape.
During his freshman year at Campbell in 2018, Allen made an impact, appearing in 10 out of 11 games. With 11 tackles, two TFLs, and one sack to his name, he set the stage for an impressive collegiate career. Progressing into his sophomore year, Allen earned second-team All-Big South honors in 2019. He notably recorded 54 tackles, 11 TFLs, and 5.5 sacks in a single season. His prowess continued to shine despite a shortened 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Yet, Allen managed to play every game and even led his team’s defensive line in tackles, earning another All-Big South selection.
The following year, Allen was named the Big South Defensive Player of the Year, having achieved an impressive national ranking in the Top 20 for TFLs and sacks. He also set a school record in sacks, tied the record in TFLs, and bagged a total of 44 tackles while playing 11 games. Allen added to his laurels being named all-conference and an All-American. His final season at Campbell in 2022 saw him awarded second-team All-Big South distinctions. Despite playing only eight games, Allen recorded 22 tackles, 7.5 TFLs, and 4.5 sacks. His collegiate career closed on a high note, as he was invited to the East–West Shrine Bowl and Hula Bowl. He also ended up as Campbell’s all-time leader in sacks and TFLs.
After his successful college career, Allen was chosen in the third round by the Memphis Showboats in the 2023 USFL draft. Despite going undrafted in the NFL Draft the same year, Allen was picked up by the Los Angeles Chargers as a free agent. He had his first NFL debut in their week one match-up against the Miami Dolphins, despite being cut at the final roster a few days prior and re-signed to the practice squad. Not only was this his debut, but Allen also became the first Northeast Guilford High School and Campbell alumni to play in an NFL game.
After a brief stint with the Chargers, Allen was waived and consequently signed with the Green Bay Packers in August, 2024. Regrettably, his time with the Packers was short-lived, as he was released later that month. Not dampened by this, Allen then found a place on the New England Patriots’ practice squad, though his time with them was also brief, being released in September of the same year, leaving him currently a free agent.
Brevin William T. Allen, through his dedication, resilience, and raw talent, has proven himself a formidable presence on the football field, marking his legacy in both college and professional football circles. His journey is not just that of an athlete, but one of persistence and a testament to his love for the game.
