Under the coaching of Dave Tallman, he made his mark as an impressive player, with an average of an impressive 21.5 points and 12 rebounds per game during his senior year. His high school stint saw him considering several universities including Boston College, Clemson, Cincinnati, Cleveland State, and Northeastern, before opting for Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) where he was coached by Shaka Smart.
As a freshman at VCU, Graham quickly became an integral part of the Rams’ lineup, garnering an average of 7.0 points and 3.2 rebounds per game. His promising first year caught the attention of Sports Illustrated and he was considered their pick as the “breakout sophomore”. This prophesy became a reality when Graham came back even stronger in his sophomore season, boasting an impressive 15.1 points and 5.8 rebounds in his new role as a full-time starter. His sophomore performance was recognized widely, earning him a spot on the second team All-Atlantic 10.
After his sophomore year, Graham’s performance earned him a place in USA Basketball’s team for the 2013 Summer Universiade in Kazan, Russia. He started five games for Team USA and averaged 9.4 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. His steady rise to fame continued, and before the start of the 2013-14 season, he was named first team preseason All-Atlantic 10 while his team, VCU, was earmarked as the preseason favorite to win the league. A key highlight of the season was a magnificent early-season win against 25th ranked Virginia with Graham leading all scorers with 22 points including a game-winning three-pointer in the last second.
Graham’s senior year in 2014-15 saw him averaging 16.2 points and 7.1 rebounds in 33 games. His college career concluded with averages of 13.4 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists in every game.
Post college, Graham went undrafted in the 2015 NBA draft, but quickly caught the eye of the San Antonio Spurs for the 2015 NBA Summer League. He signed with the Utah Jazz in August 2015 but got waived in October after featuring in only two preseason games. In January 2022, Graham was picked up by the Long Island Nets from the waivers. He then signed with the Montreal Alliance of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) in May 2023.
