Saddiq Bey is an NBA athlete and one of the up-and-coming stars in the league. He currently plays for the Detroit Pistons, after being drafted 19th overall in the 2020 NBA draft.

Born on April 10th 1998, Bey was raised in Baltimore, Maryland and attended Sidwell Friends School where he was a four-star recruit. After high school he went on to attend Villanova University where he had a successful college career earning numerous awards such as first team all Big East, Naismith Defensive Player of the Year and Big East Coaches All Academic Honoree.

In his sophomore season with Villanova, Bey took his game to another level averaging 16 points per game while shooting 45% from three point range. This performance led him to declare for the 2020 NBA Draft and be selected by Detroit Pistons with their 19th pick .

Since joining Detroit Pistons Saddiq has made an immediate impact on both ends of the floor displaying impressive offensive skills paired with lockdown defense that makes him one of best two way players entering this season’s rookies class. During his rookie year so far Saddiq is averaging 12 points 3 rebounds 2 assists while shooting 38 percent from beyond arc . His most impressive feat so far however came on March 31st 2021 when he became only second rookie ever (after Allen Iverson) to score at least 25 points , 5 rebounds , 5 assists while making 4 plus three pointers in single game .

On top of solid stats Bey also brings energy every night whether through scoring big buckets or diving after loose balls which makes him fan favorite among Piston’s supporters who already nicknamed him “Big Sadiq” due to combination of his size (6 ft 8 ) and hustle plays he displays each night on court .

Moving forward Saddiq looks bright future ahead because even though it’s early into his career it’s clear that Pistons have very special player who might become face franchise moving forward . With strong work ethic , drive win games together with great support from coaching staff Detroit can expect a lot from this young man next few years
