Gabe Vincent is an American professional basketball player who currently plays for the Miami Heat of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was born and raised in Los Angeles, California.
Vincent attended Pacific Hills High School in West Hollywood, where he played basketball. In his senior year, he averaged 16 points per game and was named to the All-CIF Division IV first team. After high school, Vincent attended UC Santa Barbara where he continued to play basketball. During his four-year college career at UCSB, Vincent was a two-time Big West Conference All-Tournament selection and helped lead the Gauchos to two NCAA tournaments appearances during his junior and senior years. During his collegiate career he scored 1,109 points and set a single season record with 93 made three pointers during his senior year en route to being named Second Team All-Big West Conference honors.
After going undrafted in 2020 NBA Draft , Gabe signed with The Miami Heat on November 25th 2020 as part of their training camp roster . His impressive performances throughout camp earned him a spot on The Miami Heat’s roster for their 2020–21 season opener against Orlando Magic . On December 23rd 2020 he recorded 12 points off 4–9 shooting from beyond arc along with 5 rebounds & 2 assists against San Antonio Spurs becoming only third undrafted rookie after Tyler Herro & Kendrick Nunn to score double digit pts for miami heat . Subsequently on January 3rd 2021 ,he became first undrated rookie after Tyler Herro to start nba game for miami heat against New Orleans Pelicans which they eventually won it 115–110 .
He finished regular season averaging 7 ppg while shooting 41% from three point line while also playing important role coming off bench acting as floor spacer or initiator when needed especially in fourth quarters ,a role which helped Maimi reach finals that year playing alongside superstars like Jimmy Butler & Bam Adebayo.. Despite losing NBA championship series 4–2 against Los Angeles Lakers ,his performance gave assurance that Gabe’s future looks very promising.. He has been praised by head coach Erik Spoelstra multiple times describing him as ‘hard worker’ who always puts team before himself .. Going forward into 2021 – 2022 seasons we can expect more consistent performance from Gabe Vincent wherever opportunity arises given due recognition & appreciation under guidance of hall of fame coach Erik Spoelstra ..
