Dennis Schröder is a professional basketball player who plays in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the Los Angeles Lakers. He was born on September 15, 1993 in Braunschweig, Germany and began playing organized basketball at an early age.

Schröder started his professional career playing for SG Braunschweig of the German Bundesliga in 2010. In 2012, he declared for the 2013 NBA draft and was selected 17th overall by the Atlanta Hawks. After spending five seasons with Atlanta split between starting and being a sixth man off the bench, Schroder was traded to Oklahoma City Thunder before landing with LA Lakers during 2019-20 NBA season after signing a four-year contract worth $84 million dollars.
