Nicolas Dalby is a Danish mixed martial artist who fights in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight division. He was born on October 5, 1986 and began training at age seven when his father introduced him to kickboxing. He eventually developed into an internationally-acclaimed competitor, winning four national championships in kickboxing before transitioning to full-time MMA competition in 2008.
Dalby’s amateur debut came about one year later when he won a unanimous decision over André Barnabas on April 11, 2009 for Fight Club Copenhagen 2. Following that victory, he went on an impressive 12-fight run that included nine wins and three draws before making his professional debut with Cage Warriors Fighting Championship (CWFC).
Over the next few years, Dalby racked up an impressive slate of wins inside the CWFC cage while simultaneously earning various accolades including “Fighter of the Year” honors from both Fighters Only and Sports Illustrated Denmark in 2011 & 2012 respectively as well as being named as one of Europe’s top 10 welterweights by Inside MMA Magazine during this same period. This success also earned him a call up to join UFC where he made his promotional debut against Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos at UFC Fight Night 69: Jędrzejczyk vs Penne in June 2015.
Following four consecutive victories within the promotion, Dalby was signed onto UFC Fight Night 135: Gaethje vs Vick where he fought against Zak Cummings but lost by unanimous decision after three rounds of action packed fighting. However, this setback did little to derail Nicolas who followed it up with two exciting victories over Alex Oliveira and Danny Roberts at UFC London (2018) and UFC Copenhagen (2019). Additionally, outside of competing for UFC Nicolas has also been involved in several other ventures such as finding time between fights to attend business school classes or serving as a guest coach for Team Sauerland which helps manages many elite European fighters from around Scandinavia & Germany regionally..
Overall now having competed professionally for over ten years under multiple banners; Nicholas has established himself not just nationally but globally among fans and peers alike due largely because of his signature aggressive style coupled with tireless work ethic inside & outside the octagon alike!
