Matt “The Immortal” Brown is an American mixed martial artist and former professional fighter in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He first rose to prominence after competing on Season 7 of The Ultimate Fighter, a reality show featuring MMA fighters. After his appearance on the show, he has gone on to become one of the most accomplished middleweight fighters in UFC history.
Brown was born on January 11th 1982 in Jamestown, Ohio. As a child he got involved with online gaming and quickly developed an interest for combat sports, particularly boxing and kickboxing. He began training at 16 years old before entering his first amateur Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fight at 19. After two years of fighting as an amateur Brown made his professional debut in 2006 for Ring of Fire promotions where he won by submission within just 45 seconds against Domingo Pilarte.
In 2007 Brown took part in the seventh season of The Ultimate Fighter reality show after being chosen as part of Team Rampage which was coached by UFC Light heavy Weight Champion Quinton Jackson and Forrest Griffin respectively. During this season Matt would go onto win all three fights earning himself a spot into the finals against Amir Sadollah who would eventually go onto win that seasons tournament title along with a six-figure contract with UFC; However it was during this time that Matt earned himself a reputation as being one tough competitor whom showcased numerous skills both standing up as well as while grappling inside the octagon cage thus making many fans instantly take notice from around world wanting more from him inside Octagon cage putting more pressure over newly signed fighter Matt then ever experienced before .
