Mark Madsen is a professional mixed martial artist who has competed in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He was born in Aalborg, Denmark on June 13th, 1976. He began his training as a child and went on to become an amateur boxer, wrestler and judoka before turning professional at the age of 21.
Madsen made his UFC debut in 2000 against Ivan Salaverry at UFC 33. During his tenure with the promotion he amassed a record of 4-3-1 with notable victories over Rodolfo Vieira and Din Thomas. He retired from active competition after suffering an orbital fracture during a bout with Kenny Florian at UFC 118 in 2010.
Despite retiring from active fighting, Madsen stayed involved in the sport by becoming one of the coaches for Team Alpha Male’s MMA program alongside Urijah Faber and Duane Ludwig. His successful coaching career eventually led him back into competition as he took part in grappling tournaments such as Grapplers Quest, ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championships and Polaris Pro Grappling series where he won several titles including gold medals at NAGA Europe 2011 & 2012 respectively; along with silver medal finishings at NAGA US 2014 & 2015 respectively; all while competing against some of the best grapplers around world which included BJJ black belt champions like Rafael Lovato Jr., Murilo Santana, André Galvão among others.
In 2018 Madsen announced that he was returning to competitive mixed martial arts by signing with Brave Combat Federation (BCF) partaking in their inaugural event ‘Brave 1’ held later that same year being rewarded Fight Of The Night honors following his loss to Erick da Silva via split decision despite being rocked early on during second round which resulted into amazing comeback performance by Mark before final bell rang ending up fight drawed 30–27/29–28/28–29 scorecards set by judges cageside but ruled outdraw due BCF ruleset not allowing draw result outcome instead favoring fighter whom scored more points according last two rounds unlike most other MMA organizations worldwide . In 2020 it was announced that Mark had signed multiple fight deal agreement once again returning back home to octagon under UFC banner this time taking place 27 years since first appearance for company held way back 1997 – no exact news about upcoming opponents were revealed yet since then but surely exciting times ahead seeing great warrior once again stepping foot inside cage proving himself true viking spirit still alive!
