Austin “Thud”Hubbard

Austin Hubbard is an American mixed martial artist from Sterling, Illinois, who has competed primarily at lightweight. Born December 22, 1991, Hubbard is known as “Thud,” stands 5-foot-10, and fights from an orthodox stance. He began training while studying criminal justice at Sauk Valley Community College, later relocated to Colorado, and developed his career alongside the Elevation Fight Team. Hubbard’s regional breakthrough came when he defeated Killys Mota to win the LFA lightweight title in December 2018, a result that led to his UFC signing the following spring.

Hubbard made his UFC debut against Davi Ramos on May 18, 2019, in Rochester, New York. His UFC run included a victory over Max Rohskopf by corner retirement in June 2020 and a spot on The Ultimate Fighter 31, where he reached the lightweight final in 2023. The UFC athlete page currently lists him in the lightweight division with a status of “Not Fighting” and identifies Valle Flow Striking as his training base, so he should not be described as a current UFC roster fighter. Hubbard later competed for Caged Aggression at its March to Glory event on March 28, 2026.
