Mariya Agapova is a rising star in the world of mixed martial arts. Born and raised in Samara, Russia, she began her MMA career at the young age of 18. She quickly rose to prominence as an up-and-coming fighter known for her aggressive style. Her powerful strikes have earned her respect both inside and outside of the cage. In 2020, she became one of only two female fighters to be signed by the UFC.

Agapova’s impressive record includes nine wins out of eleven fights since she began competing professionally in 2014, with seven victories by knockout or submission and only two losses on points decisions. This impressive winning rate has seen her crowned champion four times – twice in kickboxing tournaments, once at MMA event Fight Nights Global and most recently at Absolute Championship Akhmat (ACA). Her victory over Brazil’s Diana Belbita marked Agapova’s first win inside the UFC octagon following an unsuccessful debut against Heather Jo Clark back in December 2018 where she lost via unanimous decision after three rounds.

Agapova was inspired to get involved with MMA due to its combination of physicality and strategy; qualities which go hand-in-hand when seeking success within this sport as athletes are forced to consider how best to attack their opponents while protecting themselves from counters simultaneously. Unsurprisingly then, Mariya cites ‘The Last Emperor’ Fedor Emelianenko – arguably one of the greatest heavyweight fighters ever – as one of her inspirations along with Muhammad Ali who is widely regarded as sports all time biggest icon due his determination not just on a professional level but also socially too.

Outside fighting Mariya likes spending time outdoors rock climbing or running and also enjoys shopping during rare moments away from training sessions that take place five days per week at Zinkiev Brothers gym near her home town Samara where she is coached by Alexander Zinkiev alongside fellow Russian fighters Ramazan Emeev , Arman Tsarukyan amongst others..

Her next fight will be against Liana Jojua on October 17th 2020 who currently holds a 7–3 record within MMA having won 4 fights via KO/TKO 3 by submission plus 1 decision victory . With this fight being held under 5 rounds it’ll provide keen insight into where Agapova stands among other contenders given that each round lasts for 5 minutes allowing more scope for longer periods exchanges than usual making it suitable example test comparing their respective strengths & weaknesses particularly considering they both share similar records prior entering octagon together .

As MM size continues growing across globe so do opportunities available & Mariya looking make most them having established herself top contender women’s flyweight division over past few years remains focused developing skills further onto become formidable opponent many come face off against future date ultimately winning championship belt crowning lifetime hard work dedication put towards sport achieved dream becoming great athlete admired fans generations come .
