UFC FN: Dos Anjos vs. Edwards

Leon Edwards is a British mixed martial artist and professional boxer. He was born on 26th August 1991 in Birmingham, England. He started training in martial arts at the age of 15 and soon made his debut as an amateur MMA fighter. He won several local fights before joining the professional arena in 2012.

Edwards has competed in many promotions such as Cage Warriors, BAMMA, KSW and UFC. He has a long history of wins including notable victories over Vicente Luque, Rafael dos Anjos, Gunnar Nelson and Donald Cerrone. His record stands at 18-3-0 with 9 knockouts and 3 submissions to his name.

In 2020 Leon Edwards was named number 4 by UFC rankings of welterweight division after consecutive wins against Gunnar Nelson, Donald Cerrone and Rafael dos Anjos. He was also awarded the Performance of the Night bonus for his fight against Dos Anjos in London – making him one of only 8 fighters to have achieved this feat since the promotion began awarding it back in 2014.

Despite not having fought since July 2019 due to injury, Leon Edwards remains among the best welterweights on the planet with a bright future ahead of him. He is known for his technical striking skills and underrated ground game which makes him an exciting prospect for any match up against top contenders in the division.
