BIOGRAPHY
Jared Gooden is an American professional mixed martial artist currently competing in the welterweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Born on February 18, 1995 in Houston, Texas, he started training martial arts at a very young age and was a natural athlete. His first taste of success came when he won the World Karate Federation Junior National Championships in 2011, which made him realize that this is something he wanted to pursue professionally.
Gooden then began his MMA career at only 16 years old, fighting primarily under regional promotions. He quickly racked up an impressive record as an amateur before turning pro shortly after his 21st birthday with 11 wins by submission or knockout. After defeating fellow lightweight prospect Max Rohskopf via unanimous decision at Legacy Fighting Alliance 17 in 2017, Gooden signed on with UFC two years later and made his promotional debut against Alex Morono at UFC Fight Night 158 where he finished the fight via TKO in round one.
His next performance saw him take on Ramiz Brahimaj at UFC Fight Night 177 where Gooden showed tremendous strength and takedown defense while picking up a unanimous decision victory to jumpstart his run inside the octagon. From there, Gooden has gone on to have several great performances such as when he defeated Takashi Sato via guillotine choke submission during their bout earlier this year at UFC 256 as well as earning a split-decision win over Abubakar Nurmagomedov back in November 2020 during their clash for The Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale card – which earned himself Performance of the Night honors from the promotion’s brass afterwards due to its sheer intensity from start until finish.
Currently ranked 13th among welterweights within the organization’s active roster according to official rankings released by Sherman Sports Network today, Jared Gooden looks forward towards what lies ahead for him down his path towards championship gold sometime soon – eager to prove himself amongst some of sports toughest competitors over time slowly but surely through hard work & dedication each day while also striving towards not just having success within cage but also giving back more into community surrounding it too throughout various charitable efforts both now & moving forward too – all leading towards one thing: being recognized among best ever compete inside octagon someday down line despite any odds thrown way showing anything can be possible if you put your mind into it regardless coming out other side victorious!
