Abubakar Nurmagomedov is a Russian-born professional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter and former sambo champion. He has become one of the most popular names in MMA and is currently fighting for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
Born in Makhachkala, Dagestan, Russia on September 13th, 1988 to parents Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov and Zargan Gaseyeva. Like his brothers before him Abubakar started training in combat sports from an early age under his father’s tutelage. His father also had great success as an amateur wrestler which he passed onto all three of his sons, as well as teaching them about nutrition for athletes alongside proper conditioning techniques to help enhance performance during their training sessions.
