BIOGRAPHY

Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos is a professional mixed martial artist from Brazil. He currently competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s (UFC) welterweight division. He is known for his aggressive, high-pressure fighting style and has earned many impressive victories throughout his career, including four Submission of the Night awards under the UFC banner. His nickname is “Capoeira” due to his origin, he hails from Salvador, Bahia where this renowned Brazilian martial art was born.

Zaleski dos Santos began training in muay thai at age 18 and eventually moved to Jiu Jitsu as well as boxing and wrestling before pursuing a career in MMA competition in 2008. In 2009 he won his first professional fight by TKO with a knee strike followed five more wins that year alone all by way of knockout or submission for various promotions such as Jungle Fight FC and Bitetti Combat MMA in Brazil until making it into Shooto Brazil where he competed an additional 7 times before being signed to Strikeforce ending 2011 on a five fight win streak which included two knockouts and three submissions earning him Submission of the night honors.

In 2012 Dos Santos made it onto The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 2 team coached by Wanderlei Silva but lost via split decision at the finale event still managing to impress UFC President Dana White who indicated afterword that both participants were expected to receive a six figure contract with the organization despite losing their respective fights on said card. Following several more wins within regional promotions including Face 2 Face Fighting Championships Dos Santos officially signed with UFC mid 2017 becoming one of just two fighters from northeastern Brazil alongside lightweight Felipe Olivieri who had previously fought for them back then however Elizeu would go onto prove himself further managing 5 wins out 6 fights over 3 years achieving 4 performance bonuses during that stint which included back–to–back 2018 Fight Of The Night awards against Sean Strickland & Curtis Millender respectively along with another Submission Of The Night award for submitting Luke Sanders later that same year solidifying himself amongst elite talent within 170lb fold amassing many fans worldwide due his dynamic pressure style stood out against other strikers featured inside Octagon proving particularly successful among southpaw opponents which continues successfully garnering attention even today ranging among top 15 ranked contenders past couple years have given him multiple opportunities sharing cards featuring some biggest names combat sports history making sure world knows Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos here stay long time!
