Fares Ziam Bio

Farès Ziam is a French mixed martial artist competing in the UFC lightweight division. Born March 21, 1997, in Vénissieux, France, he began training at age 12 with his brother and developed a technical kickboxing-based style complemented by Brazilian jiu-jitsu and judo. The UFC lists him at 6 feet 1 inch with a 75-inch reach and identifies his style as kickboxing.

Ziam turned professional in 2014 and made his UFC debut against Don Madge at UFC 242 on September 7, 2019. After an uneven start in the promotion, he rebuilt his momentum with victories over Michal Figlak, Jai Herbert, Claudio Puelles, Matt Frevola, Mike Davis and Nazim Sadykhov. His stoppage of Frevola in Paris on September 28, 2024, was one of his notable UFC performances, while his victory over Sadykhov came by second-round strikes at UFC 323 on December 6, 2025.

Ziam entered September 16, 2026, as an active UFC athlete listed on the promotion’s roster. He most recently fought Axel Sola at UFC Fight Night in Paris on September 5, 2026, losing by first-round knockout. The UFC profile lists Dominance MMA and Onx Labs as his training affiliations; in 2026, Ziam also discussed developing his game in Denver with Trevor Wittman’s team, making that a dated training-development plan rather than a confirmed permanent relocation.
