BIOGRAPHY

Cortney Casey is an American professional mixed martial artist. She currently competes in the UFC in the women’s Flyweight division.

Casey was born on February 24, 1987, in San Diego, California. Her father was a US Marine Corps Sergeant and her mother was an aerospace engineer. She attended Ramona High School and graduated from University of Arizona with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology.

Casey began training MMA at the age of 19 when she moved to Chicago for college. After graduating, she decided to focus solely on fighting and eventually made her amateur debut against Hannah Kampf at XFO: Outlawed 2010 in June of that year, winning by unanimous decision after three rounds of action-packed fighting. Following this win, Casey continued to compete as an amateur before transitioning into professional competition in 2012 with a victory over Kaitlyn Young under the NCFS banner for her first pro win.

In 2013 Casey joined Invicta Fighting Championships where she finished her stint as one of their top Flyweight contenders; going 3-2 while competing on their roster before signing with Legacy Fighting Championship (LFC) later that year where she established herself as one of the promotion’s most popular fighters by notching up two victories via submission over Angela Danzig and Andrea Lee respectively during her tenure there between 2014 – 2015; earning ‘Fight Of The Night’ honors twice during this period due to her aggressive style both inside & outside the cage which included multiple armbar submissions & impressive striking accuracy resulting into stunning knockouts throughout these bouts respectively making headlines across MMA media outlets worldwide!  

Fast forward two years later Cortney made history when she signed with UFC becoming only one out of few female flyweights representing LFC within their tier 1 promotion . Since then ‘Cast Iron’ has gone 5-4 record under their banner rising among divisions top 15 rankings whilst featuring several impressive performances along road including KO wins over Randa Markos , Jessica Aguilar & Seohee Ham just name few!! As result making El Paso resident arguably most entertaining fighter within 125 lbs weight class!  
            Despite suffering defeats at hands off Cynthia Calvillo , Michelle Waterson & Alexa Grasso recently team CMT killer set sights high eyeing title shot near future taking last stand against Maycee Barber next January 2020 !!
