BIOGRAPHY

Timur Valiev is an Uzbekistani-American professional mixed martial artist who competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s bantamweight division. He has also previously competed for World Series of Fighting and the Resurrection Fighting Alliance.

Valiev started his amateur career in 2010, competing mostly on regional circuits in Russia and Kazakhstan. He soon began training at Tiger Muay Thai gym in Thailand, where he won multiple titles and earned a worldwide reputation as one of the best prospects in MMA. In 2014, he made his professional debut with a first-round knockout victory over Astemir Babaev at Fight Nights Global 32: Volkov vs Kadyrov.

Early success quickly followed as Valiev went on to win seven of his next eight fights, including two championship bouts with M-1 Challenge and ACB promotions. After compiling an impressive 10 – 1 record during this period, Timur signed with WSOF (World Series Of Fighting)in 2016 where he was expected to make a big impact as part of their bantamweight division lineup; however due to visa issues Valiev was unable to compete while under contract there but would eventually earn his way back into competition when signing with RFA (Resurrection Fighting Alliance). During this period Timur would go 4 – 0 before signing with UFC early 2018 after concluding his run at RFA by capturing their Bantamweight Title via Unanimous Decision over Darrick Minner at ‘RFA vs LFA 26’ event held on March 2nd 2018.

Since then Timur has gone 2 – 1 inside octagon thus far defeating Martin Day via Split Decision & Nate Maness via Unanimous decision while suffering only one defeat which came against Casey Kenneyvia Majority decision . For future endeavors we’ll have to wait & see what comes up for him , but judging from past performances it looks like fans can expect nothing short than great fight from exciting young fighter that is Timur Valiev!
