BIOGRAPHY

Josh Emmett is an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight mixed martial artist and a former professional boxer. He currently competes in the UFC’s Featherweight division, where he is ranked #3.

Emmett was born on May 28, 1985 in Sacramento, California. He began practicing wrestling at a young age and went on to become a two-time state champion while attending El Camino High School. After graduating high school he attended the University of Central Florida where he wrestled for the Knights from 2004 to 2008; ending his college career as team captain and with one NCAA All American title under his belt.

In 2009 Josh decided it was time for him to make the move into MMA full time. He made his amateur debut against Aaron Duke at Strike Hard Productions: Battle On The Bayou 2 in November 2009; winning via unanimous decision after three rounds of action. After competing as an amateur for nearly two years, Emmett turned pro in August 2011; winning all five fights by knockout or submission before signing with Bellator MMA in December 2012. During his five fight stint with Bellator, Emmett won four out of five bouts before signing with UFC in April 2017; making him just one of six fighters signed directly from Bellator to compete inside the Octagon that year!

At UFC Fight Night 123: Swanson vs Ortega which took place on Dec 9th 2017, Josh recorded arguably one of the greatest comebacks ever seen within MMA when he overcame Ricardo Lamas via KO/TKO – despite being rocked by multiple blows early on – en route to claiming victory through intensity and raw power! This win earned him Performance Of The Night honors alongside Cub Swanson who headlined that night’s main event card against Brian Ortega . His record now stands at 14 wins including 8 knockouts & 6 decisions & only 2 losses since entering into Mixed Martial Arts professionally back in 2011 – both coming via Decision after going 3 hard fought rounds each time!!
In January 2018 Josh put pen-to-paper onto a new long term deal with Dana White’s UFC organization thus ensuring that fans will be able see plenty more fireworks between this talented Californian featherweight & whoever gets matched up opposite him next!!
