Javelin Kajireh Guidry, born on August 6, 1998, is a talented free agent American professional football cornerback with a distinguished career both on and off the field. Over the course of his illustrious career, this dynamic player has consistently demonstrated the prowess and athleticism that has marked him out as a star in the sport.

Raised in the competitive sports environment of Texas, Guidry’s athletic potential was evident even during his high school days at Cedar Park High School. In a dramatic fashion, Guidry won the Texas State 100 Meter Track Championship, recording a time of 10.41 seconds, a remarkable feat that showcased the speed and agility that would later become hallmarks of his professional career.

His athletic talent did not stop at the confines of his home state. Moving to California, Guidry attended Vista Murrieta High School. While there, on June 3, 2017, he recorded the fastest 100-meter dash in state history, clocking in at an impressive time of 10.13.

In 2019, he emerged victorious in the 60-meter dash at the University of Washington invitational with a stunning time of 6.59— a mark which not only placed him seventh fastest globally that year but also saw him besting the record of professional runner Kyree King.

Entering the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine, Guidry displayed his renowned speed, completing the 40-yard dash in a swift 4.29 seconds, the second fastest time behind only Henry Ruggs with 4.27 seconds. This feat further solidified Guidry’s reputation as a force to be reckoned with on the field.

Following the 2020 NFL draft, Guidry was signed as an undrafted free agent by the New York Jets on May 6, 2020. Just a few months later, however, he was waived during final roster cuts. Despite the setback, Guidry remained undeterred, signing onto the Jets’ practice squad the following day before being promoted to the active roster later that year. His NFL debut came in October 2020 in a match against the Denver Broncos.

The period following his debut was one filled with change for Guidry. He was waived by the Jets in August 2022 and swiftly claimed off waivers by the Arizona Cardinals the following day. Thereafter, he had a brief stint with the Las Vegas Raiders before joining the practice squad of the Philadelphia Eagles, only to be released by the end of the year.

The journey took Guidry next to the Atlanta Falcons’ practice squad, where he signed onto a reserve/future contract in early January 2023. However, he was waived several months later in May. Following a brief return to the Jets, he was placed on injured reserve on August 17, 2023. Overcoming adversities and displaying a commendable resilience, Guidry returned to the game by signing on with the Detroit Lions in August 2024. Notwithstanding his tireless efforts, his stay was brief, when he was released from the team later the same month.
