BIOGRAPHY

Born on March 8, 1998, Jackson Dean Heflin embarked on an outstanding journey, leaving a significant mark in American football. Professional defensive tackle and a free agent, Mr. Heflin has left a legacy of true grit, tenacity, and an undying spirit that has seen him through both victories and losses.

Heflin sharpened his football skills at Northern Illinois University, where he thrilled fans and spectators with his excellent display of teamwork and strategy. He played in this position at the University for four consecutive seasons and demonstrated exceptional talent. This earned him second-team all-Mid-American Conference honors in 2019, thus establishing himself as a master of the game for the Huskies.

His journey took a different turn in 2020 when he chose to transfer to Iowa. With equal agility and enthusiasm, he began playing as a defensive tackle alongside Daviyon Nixon, gaining valuable experience and adding to his well-earned reputation.

The year 2021 marked a significant turn in his professional life. Heflin signed with the Green Bay Packers, making the leap from college football to professional American football as an undrafted free agent. However, he was played a cruel hand of fate and was released on January 21, 2022. Reminding us once again of his relentless spirit, he was back with the Packers due to a futures contract re-signing on January 27, 2022, right after the playoff exit.

His journey with the Packers was cut short when he was waived in late August 2022 and was signed onto the practice squad just a day later. On December 13, he was removed from the practice squad. Not too long after, he found himself signed to the New York Giants practice squad in December. After being released from and then re-signed to the squad in early January 2023, he was once again released.

In a surprising twist of events, Heflin signed with the Houston Roughnecks of the XFL on January 8, 2023. He proved his worth and stood out, earning him a spot in the All-XFL team on May 8, 2023. Nevertheless, he was released a week later.

Undaunted by the twist and turns, Heflin forged ahead by signing up with the New Orleans Saints on May 15, 2023. Though he experienced a brief setback when he was waived in August, he was swiftly re-signed to the practice squad. He made such an impact that, at the end of the regular season in 2023, the Saints retained him through a reserve/future contract signed on January 8, 2024. However, he was once again waived by the team in August 2024.
