BIOGRAPHY

Born on July 21, 1999, Stevenson Isaiah McDuffie is a highly respected American professional football linebacker who currently plays for the Green Bay Packers in the National Football League (NFL). From his college days at Boston College to his current position in the NFL, McDuffie has proven his football prowess time and time again, solidifying his place in the league.

Originally hailing from Syracuse, McDuffie was committed to play college football in his hometown. However, in May 2016 McDuffie had a change of heart and decided to commit to Boston College. This decision marked the beginning of a transformative chapter in McDuffie’s football career.

From 2017 to 2020, McDuffie attended Boston College where he honed his skills as a football player. With a strong team surrounding him, he was truly able to find his footing in the sport. His dedication to the game was recognized in 2020, as he was selected for the Second-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference.

McDuffie’s football journey didn’t stop with his college career. In 2021 he was fortunate enough to be selected 220th overall by the Green Bay Packers in the NFL Draft, a monumental accomplishment for any young player.

On May 14, 2021, McDuffie officially signed his rookie contract – marking the beginning of his professional football career. This was a major achievement for this emerging star, and he quickly rose up the ranks within the team. In fact, at the start of the 2022 season, McDuffie was named the fourth linebacker on the Packers’ depth chart- positioned neatly behind De’Vondre Campbell, Quay Walker, and Krys Barnes.

However, McDuffie’s spotlight moment arrived on October 30, 2022, during a loss in Week 8 to the Buffalo Bills. Barnes being on injured reserve and both Walker and Campbell exiting the game early left the field open for this young talent to take center stage. With responsibility falling on his shoulders, McDuffie became the primary defensive playcaller and played alongside newly signed Eric Wilson.

Despite this being his first significant action, McDuffie’s performance did not falter. Showing grace under pressure, he started the Packers’ Week 9 game against the Detroit Lions, even with Barnes back to health and Campbell still sidelined. McDuffie established his presence on-field making five tackles and finishing the game with a Pro Football Focus grade of an impressive 91.1.

Talent truly does run in McDuffie’s family, as he is first cousins with Kansas Jayhawks running back Dylan McDuffie. Throughout his career, this persistent and resilient linebacker has shown that when it comes to football, courage and grit are as important as physical prowess.
