Devin Duvernay's Biography

Born on September 12, 1997, Devin Duvernay has carved out a successful career as an accomplished professional football wide receiver and return specialist currently playing for the Jacksonville Jaguars in the National Football League (NFL). Originally hailing from Sachse, Texas, this prodigious talent has been demonstrating his skills on the football field from a young age, eventually making his way to the highest level of the sport.

Duvernay’s football journey began at Sachse High School, where his exceptional talents began to emerge. Over his high school career, Duvernay posted impressive numbers, including 170 receptions, 2,906 yards, and 36 touchdowns. He also set a school record with a kickoff return touchdown, covering 109 yards.

Following high school, Devin initially committed to Baylor University, but eventually decided to play for the University of Texas at Austin. As a freshman in 2016, he played in all 12 games and recorded 20 receptions for 412 yards alongside three touchdowns. By the time his junior year rolled around in 2018, he was starting all games and had amassed 41 receptions for 546 yards and four touchdowns. His senior year proved to be his breakout moment, as he became Texas’s number one receiver and accumulated 1,386 yards receiving as well as nine touchdowns on 106 receptions.

Entering the NFL by being drafted in the third round by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2020 NFL draft with the 92nd overall pick, Devin’s career quickly took flight. His first touchdown came in the form of an impressive 93-yard kickoff return in a game against the Kansas City Chiefs. He experienced slightly more activity at the start of the 2021 season due to injuries to his teammates, which resulted in him recovering a fumble against the Chiefs that turned into a crucial touchdown.

However, his most notable accomplishments have come from his work as a return specialist. Devin was selected to his first Pro Bowl at the end of the 2021 season, an honor he would receive again the following year despite a severe foot injury that placed him on the injured reserve list.

He is the cousin of Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray and has a twin brother Donovan, who played as a defensive back during his college years at Texas before transferring to Northwestern State University for his senior season.
