Arthur Maulet

Arthur Maulet, born on July 13, 1993, is an American professional football player known for his tenacity on the gridiron as a cornerback in the National Football League (NFL). He garnered attention while playing for Memphis before breaking into the NFL. Across his career, Maulet’s strength and agility saw him play for several teams, including the New Orleans Saints, Indianapolis Colts, New York Jets, Pittsburgh Steelers, and, as of 2023, the Baltimore Ravens.

Maulet’s road to professional football was action-packed, demonstrating a steadily rising trajectory that began in college. As a senior at Memphis, he played in every one of the 13 games with stats that raised eyebrows: 73 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, two interceptions, 15 passes defensed, and two forced fumbles.

In 2017, the New Orleans Saints signed Maulet as an undrafted free agent in a show of faith in his abilities. However, his time with the Saints saw several waivers, demotions to the practice squad, and subsequent promotions back to the active roster. In 2018, he was waived by the Saints but was quickly claimed off waivers by the Indianapolis Colts. The stint with the Colts was brief, and after being waived in late 2018, he rejoined the Saints’ practice squad.

New opportunities came knocking in 2019, when Maulet signed a reserve/future contract with the New York Jets. In a Week 3 game against the New England Patriots, he made an impact by recovering a fumble in the endzone for a touchdown, a glimmer of potential despite the Jets’ 30-14 loss. Nevertheless, he experienced the familiar pattern of being waived and re-signed, this time to the Jets’ practice squad. By the end of October, he had climbed back to the active roster. His performances secured his spot with the Jets, and he successfully re-signed with them in 2020.

However, injury struck later that year and Maulet was placed on injured reserve due to a groin injury. Despite this setback, he bounced back in October and even recorded his first career sack during a game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Moving on from the Jets, Maulet joined the Pittsburgh Steelers on a one-year contract in 2021. After extending his contract for another two years in 2022, Maulet’s journey took another twist as he was released in 2023. Unfazed, Maulet kept ticking off the NFL teams on his resume, joining the Baltimore Ravens later in the year.

At the Ravens, Maulet enjoyed some success, seeing action in 14 games and starting three as a slot corner and blitzer. He registered 37 tackles, five passes defensed, and one interception. Impressed with his contributions, the Ravens extended Maulet’s contract for another two years in March 2024. Although an injury later that year landed him back on injured reserve, Maulet remains a resilient figure in the NFL, demonstrating his skill, tenacity, and ability to rise back up despite setbacks and challenges.
