Kelly was first drawn to the oblong-shaped ball as a student at Marian Catholic High School. It was here that he began to understand the intricacies of the game. He had to balance school and his nascent sports career, which clearly brought out his resilience. Kelly practically grew up in the football field, always eager to learn more and improve his game.
After his distinct high school performance, Dennis Kelly honed his football talents further at Purdue University, where he majored in Organizational Leadership and Supervision. His football prowess did not fade as he got into college, exhibiting his significant athletic skill and performing impressively enough to earn him All-Big Ten Honorable Mention in 2011.
