BIOGRAPHY

Christopher Lamar Lammons, a celebrated and talented professional football player, was born on January 31, 1996. The American made his name in the world of football playing as a cornerback for the National Football League’s Indianapolis Colts. His football career kicked off in the pursuit of higher education when he attended the University of South Carolina and played for the school’s college football team.

Over the span of four seasons playing for the South Carolina Gamecocks, Lammons left an indelible mark on the field. His junior season proved particularly stellar when he displayed his impeccable skills over all thirteen games of the Gamecocks. With an amazing record of 53 tackles, including four to loss, a sack, and defending five passes, he finished eighth overall in the Southeastern Conference with three interceptions.

His senior year saw him emerge as third in the team with 79 tackles, among which three were for loss, two forced fumbles, and seven passes defended. By the time he graduated, Lammons had accrued an impressive 177 total tackles, nine for loss, a sack, four interceptions, 21 defended passes, three forced fumbles, and three recoveries.

Lammons’ professional journey began with the Atlanta Falcons after signing as an undrafted free agent on April 28, 2018. However, his stint with the Falcons was short-lived as he was waived on September 1, 2018.

He found another shot at pro football when he was signed to the New Orleans Saints practice squad on October 3, 2018. Despite this, he was waived again later that month, on October 20, 2018. Lammons wouldn’t be on the sidelines for long though, as he joined the Miami Dolphins practice squad on November 28, 2018, where he stayed for the rest of the season. He finally made his NFL debut in the Dolphins season opener against the Baltimore Ravens on September 8, 2019, where he defended one pass.

A significant moment in Lammons’ career occurred during week 13 against the Philadelphia Eagles when he intercepted a Hail Mary pass from Carson Wentz late in the game, securing a 37-31 win for the Dolphins. This marked his first career interception. Unfortunately, Lammons was waived on December 7, 2019.

His skills remained in high demand when he was signed to the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad on December 10, 2019. He remained there throughout the rest of the season, including during the Chiefs’ victorious Super Bowl LIV. Perhaps recognizing his skill, the Chiefs re-signed Lammons on February 5, 2020. He was again waived during final roster cuts on September 5, 2020, but quickly signed to the practice squad the next day. Throughout December and January, he was cycled between the active roster and the practice squad for various games, ultimately being promoted to the active roster for the Super Bowl LV against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on February 6, 2021.

Misfortune visited Lammons when he was placed on injured reserve on December 11, 2021. He made his comeback by re-signing with the Chiefs the next summer, on June 16, 2022, only to be waived on January 23, 2023. Soon after on January 24, the Cincinnati Bengals claimed him off waivers, but he was not added to their roster until after Super Bowl LVII.

Lammons found a new beginning with the Indianapolis Colts, signing with them on July 27, 2023. However, he was hit with a suspension for the first three games of the regular season in the August of that year. Following his suspension, he was released on September 25 and re-signed to the practice squad. He was subsequently signed to the active roster in a few months, on December 22.

Despite a temporary setback as he was released by the Colts on August 27, 2024, he quickly returned to the practice squad. Shortly after, on September 10, he was signed back to the active roster. Unfortunately, Lammons’ promising career hit a major roadblock on February 16, 2022, when a warrant was issued for his arrest in Las Vegas, Nevada in connection with an alleged assault involving New Orleans Saints’ running back, Alvin Kamara. He turned himself in, posting a $5,000 bail, and although not jailed, he received a felony charge for battery resulting in significant bodily harm, and a misdemeanor conspiracy to commit battery charge. His legal team are contesting the charges. Despite the adversity, Lammons’ talent shines through, solidifying his place in the world of professional football.
