Chase Claypool Bio
Chase Claypool is a Canadian wide receiver from Abbotsford, British Columbia. Born July 7, 1998, he attended Notre Dame and entered the NFL as Pittsburgh’s second-round selection, 49th overall, in the 2020 NFL Draft. Listed at 6-foot-4 and 238 pounds, Claypool developed a reputation as a physically imposing outside receiver who could also contribute in the red zone and on designed rushing plays.
Claypool made an immediate impact with the Steelers and earned PFWA All-Rookie team recognition in 2020. His early career was defined by size, speed and explosive-play potential, along with the versatility to line up in different roles within an offense. Pittsburgh traded him to the Chicago Bears on November 1, 2022, and Chicago later sent him to the Miami Dolphins on October 6, 2023.
Claypool last appeared in an NFL regular-season game in 2023. In 2026, he attended the Green Bay Packers’ rookie minicamp on a tryout basis, but the retrieved sources do not establish that he signed with Green Bay or any other NFL team by September 29, 2026. He should therefore be described as a free-agent wide receiver with prior NFL experience rather than as a current member of a team.
