Brandon Aiyuk Bio
Brandon Aiyuk is an American football wide receiver born March 17, 1998. Listed at 6 feet and 200 pounds, he developed through Robert McQueen High School in Reno, Nevada, and Sierra College in Rocklin, California. After two seasons at Sierra, he transferred to Arizona State, where he played during the 2018 and 2019 seasons. His college background also included work as a kickoff and punt returner, demonstrating the open-field ability that became central to his professional profile.
The San Francisco 49ers selected Aiyuk from Arizona State with the 25th overall pick in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft after trading up to acquire the selection. Draft evaluators described him as an explosive, energetic receiver with natural hands, separation instincts and particular strength after the catch. His long wingspan gave him additional reach beyond what his height suggested, while his return experience added another dimension to his prospect profile.
Aiyuk developed into a prominent target in San Francisco's offense and earned Associated Press Second-Team All-Pro recognition for the 2023 season. He and the 49ers agreed to a four-year contract extension in August 2024, but the relationship later deteriorated. San Francisco placed him on the reserve/left squad list in December 2025 and subsequently voided his guaranteed compensation for 2026.
