Bradley Chubb's Biography

Born on the 24th of June, 1996, Bradley Austin Chubb has carved a reputation as a respected American professional football linebacker in the National Football League (NFL). He plies his professional football trade with the Miami Dolphins, a high-profile team in the NFL. Prior to his admirable professional football journey, Chubb had a one-of-a-kind college football career at NC State Wolfpack.

Chubb’s penchant for football began at Hillgrove High School where he developed into a hybrid defensive end and linebacker. As a senior, he significantly contributed to the Hawks’ advancement into the Georgia 6A quarterfinals. His prospective football exploits attracted interest from several universities, including Duke, West Virginia, East Carolina, and Wake Forest. However, Chubb remained steadfast to his commitment, finally committing to play college football for North Carolina State University on June 24, 2013.

In his first year playing for NC State, Chubb experienced little playing time, primarily performing on special teams. Eventually, he opted to modify his position from an outside linebacker to a defensive end, a switch that saw him break into the starting lineup in his sophomore season. During his junior season, Chubb further solidified his critical role in the team and emerged as an off-field team leader. His dedication to the sport saw him end the season with the third highest amount of tackles for loss in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Making an impressive jump onto the college football scene, Chubb recorded striking feats in his senior year, one of which included metaphorically spotting on Florida State’s Seminole logo at midfield after a victory against the team that escalated into a controversial incident. Additionally, during a game against Clemson, he humorously took opposing quarterback Kelly Bryant’s towel three times, later giving it back after a Clemson offensive Lineman held him until he did. More importantly, a game against Boston College established Chubb’s place in history as he surpassed Mario Williams to become the all-time sack leader and the Wolfpack leader in tackles for loss in NC State Wolfpack’s history.

Following his triumphs in college football, the Denver Broncos opted Chubb as their first round, fifth overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, marking Chubb’s start in professional football. Shortly after the draft, he achieved his official debut in the Broncos season-opener against the Seattle Seahawks, where he was credited with three combined tackles and half a sack.

Throughout his professional career, Chubb has alternated between triumphant victories and unfortunate injuries. A knee injury prematurely ended his 2019 season. However, he rebounded with resounding success for the 2020 season, earning him a spot in the 2021 Pro Bowl.

In the 2022 season, he bid farewell to the Broncos, getting traded along with a fifth-round 2025 pick to the Miami Dolphins in a deal that saw running back Chase Edmonds, a 2023 first-round pick, and a 2024 fourth-round pick heading the other way. His move to Miami proved profitable as he celebrated scoring eight sacks, 39 total tackles, one pass defended, and three fumble recoveries. However, he had to endure a setback ahead of the season finale with a torn ACL against the Ravens ruling him out of competition.

Chubb’s family has a consistent link with football. His brother, Brandon Chubb, is a former college football player at Wake Forest and had a brief stint with the Los Angeles Rams in 2016. His father, Aaron, was also a football player, plying his trade with the New England Patriots back in 1989. His cousin, Nick Chubb, had a reputable career with the Georgia Bulldogs and currently plays for the Cleveland Browns.
