Jaylen Allen Wright, born on April 1, 2003, is a dynamic talent in American professional football. Currently, he is successfully positioned as a running back for the Miami Dolphins, forming a significant part of the National Football League (NFL). Jaylen’s academic journey started in the Southern School of Energy and Sustainability, located in Durham, North Carolina. It was here where his passion for football began to crystallize. In his junior year, 2019, he showcased his raw talent by rushing for a remarkable 901 yards over just 89 carries, along with scoring five touchdowns. Regrettably, he could not continue this momentum into his senior year owing to the season’s cancellation amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Undeterred by this setback, Wright took a decisive step toward his dream by committing to the University of Tennessee to play college football. A significant opportunity lay in front of him, and true to his spirit, Wright grabbed it with both hands.
In 2021, as a true freshman at Tennessee, Jaylen showcased his skills in nine games. Making 85 rushes, he covered a respectable 409 yards and scored four touchdowns. People had started to sit up and notice at this point.
Jaylen only magnified his skill and dedication in 2022, his sophomore year. He led his team heroically, amassing an impressive 875 yards over 146 carries, along with scoring 10 touchdowns. This year marked his emergence as a essential part of his team, displaying the many facets of his talent.
In 2023, Jaylen, a junior now, continued to play for Tennessee. He ended the season with another compelling performance, this time with 1,013 rushing yards from 137 carries and four touchdowns over 12 games. His performance was so exceptional that he earned a place in the second team All-SEC for the season of 2023. He was steadily becoming a rising star.
In 2024, the most significant turn in Jaylen’s career took place. The Miami Dolphins, one of the franchises of the NFL, chose him as their luminary in the fourth round of the NFL draft. At the 120th overall pick, the world saw a new professional footballer in the making.
