The potential he demonstrated garnered much attention and resulted in an initial commitment to play college football at California, choosing it over tempting offers from reputed institutions like UCLA, Washington, and Utah.
However, alterations in California’s coaching staff during his senior year caused Armani to rethink his path. With a change of heart, he decommitted and took a chance on the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) after taking Fresno State into considertation.
Armani’s college journey kickstarted with a redshirt freshman year at UNLV. His spectacular performance during this time – completing 99 of 189 pass attempts for 1,471 yards and securing six touchdowns with only five interceptions – earned him the coveted Mountain West Conference Freshman of the Year title. His redshirt junior year was not bereft of challenges, either, marked by another injury after amassing 393 passing yards and making two touchdowns. In spite of the setbacks, Armani’s potential kept shining through, calling Ohio’s attention. He made a historic move, transferring to Ohio as a graduate student.

His second season saw him commence two games as a quarterback but his career-defining moment came with a 99-yard touchdown rush against the Buffalo Bulls. This extraordinary feat set the NCAA record for a quarterback and left everyone in awe of his exceptional talent.
Anticipating the prospects, Armani switched his role from a quarterback to a tight end before his appearance in the 2022 East–West Shrine Bowl. Subsequently, he was signed off as an undrafted free agent by the Washington Commanders on May 2, 2022.
Unfortunately, after a brief stint of play, Armani was placed on injured reserve on November 19th. Albeit, his never-say-die attitude got him back into the game by January 7, 2023.
Regrettably, Armani suffered a significant setback as he tore his Achilles tendon in a non-contact practice session on May 24, 2023. Requiring an extended recovery period, he was then put on injured reserve on July 25, 2023. Eventually, the Washington Commanders released Rogers on August 6, 2024.
