Alex Akingbulu is an American football offensive tackle born December 28, 1997, in Los Angeles. Listed at 6 feet 5 inches and 300 pounds, he attended Narbonne High School in California before beginning his college career at UCLA. He spent the 2016 and 2017 seasons with the Bruins but did not appear in a game, sitting out his second year while rehabilitating an injury.
Akingbulu transferred to Fresno State and developed into the Bulldogs’ starting right tackle. He earned first-team All-Mountain West recognition in 2021 after starting throughout his final season and helping anchor an effective offense. His college work also included academic recognition from the Mountain West, reflecting his progress both on the offensive line and in graduate studies.
After going unselected in the 2022 NFL Draft, Akingbulu played left tackle for the Philadelphia Stars before signing with the Washington Commanders in July 2022. He moved between Washington’s practice squad and active roster and appeared in NFL regular-season action during 2023. The Commanders waived him with an injury designation on August 6, 2024.
Akingbulu subsequently continued his career in the UFL. He signed with the Birmingham Stallions in December 2024 and later joined the Renegades organization. As of October 1, 2026, official UFL and Fresno State materials identify him with the Dallas Renegades. His experience at both left and right tackle gives him a background on each edge of the offensive line.
