Alec Ingold, born on July 9, 1996, in the United States, is a highly-accomplished professional football fullback who has carved a distinguished path in the National Football League (NFL). Currently, he is associated with the Miami Dolphins, a renowned team in the NFL. He was also instrumental in gaining significant victories during his college football years at the Wisconsin Badgers.

Tracing his journey back, Ingold initially committed to Northern Illinois to perform as a quarterback. However, with an open mind ready to embrace different opportunities, he eventually accepted a scholarship from Wisconsin. The willingness to embrace his versatility as an athlete has proven instrumental to his growth and success. His senior year at Bay Port High School saw him beaming with extraordinary achievements where he was named the prestigious Associated Press Wisconsin Player of the Year and the Gatorade Wisconsin Player of the Year, a testament to his dual-threat prowess as a formidable quarterback.

Ingold’s tenure at Wisconsin was marked by a big break in his career when he started eleven games, showcasing his dexterity as a fullback during his senior year. He initially donned the role of a linebacker before transitioning to a running back due to the unfortunate injury of Corey Clement. Before his sophomore season, Ingold further shifted to a fullback where he shared game snaps with Austin Ramesh for two years before taking full charge of the primary duties in his senior year. His tenure saw him making a significant impact in short-yardage situations such as goal-line scenarios advancing his team with a high touchdown-to-carry ratio.

Upon the glorious completion of his senior season, Alec Ingold was summoned to attend the highly anticipated 2019 Senior Bowl. He also scored an exclusive invite to the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine as the only true fullback. He unveiled his athletic finesse with a 4.89-second 40-yard dash, 16 bench press repetitions, a 34-inch vertical jump and a mighty 116-inch broad jump.

Ingold’s professional football career commenced with the Oakland Raiders where he was signed as an undrafted free agent on May 3, 2019. His skills were on full display during his first start on Monday Night Football against the Denver Broncos. A turning point in his career was marked by scoring his first career touchdown in Week 10 that led to a splendid 26-24 victory for the Raiders against the Los Angeles Chargers. He continued to impress with three passes for 22 yards in a challenging game which ended in a 20-16 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 15.

The sought-after fullback added another feather to his cap when he signed a two-year, $6.5 million contract with the Miami Dolphins, on March 17, 2022. With the Dolphins, he had a rewarding journey, enough to earn him an extension to his contract for another three years on August 31, 2023.

However, the journey to success was not without its hurdles. During Week 10 of the 2021 season, Ingold suffered a major setback in the form of a torn ACL injury. As a result, he was sidelined for the entire season. Despite this, his indomitable spirit did not waver.

Ingold’s contribution off-field is as remarkable as his performances on the football field. In 2020, his dedication was recognized when he was nominated as the Las Vegas Raiders’ representative for the prestigious Walter Payton Man of the Year Award. Moreover, as an adopted child, he strongly advocates for adoption and works with various organizations that promote child adoption and raise awareness about it.

Off the field, Ingold has an intriguing personality. He is a devoted Christian and leads a blissful married life with his wife, Alexa Ingold. Though he is 15 years younger than fellow Bay Port alum and the first BPHS football player to be drafted into the NFL, Dan Buenning, they never shared a childhood bond. Besides being a revered football player, Ingold was also a state champion wrestler in his time at Bay Port, a testimony to his tireless determination and relentless pursuit of excellence.

Before embarking on his rookie NFL season, Ingold also served an internship at Oracle Corporation, a signal of his preparedness for life beyond the football field, in case he didn’t make it into the final NFL roster. All of these diverse experiences are a testament to Alec Ingold’s resilience and ambition, marking him as a true inspiration in the world of American football.
