A natural at the sport, Cameron Dicker set a school record at Lake Travis High with a 53 yard field goal. His impressive performance garnered him recognition and rankings from esteemed sports platforms – he was ranked the number four kicker in the nation by 247Sports and the number 16 kicker nationally by ESPN in the 2018 class. This was the result of him kicking the game-winning 40 yard field goal against Oklahoma during the 2018 Red River Showdown.

His remarkable career took an upward trajectory as he clinched second-team all-Big 12 honors in 2020, and then first-team all-Big 12 honors in 2021. Making history, Dicker broke records for the longest field goal in Alamo Bowl history – a staggering 53-yard field goal in the 2020 Alamo Bowl. An added layer of competence was unveiled in the 2021 season when Dicker added punting duties to his role. Gloriously entering the world of professional football with his declaration for the NFL draft on January 19, 2022.

Despite being undrafted, Dicker was plucked by the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent. He was soon released by the Rams and was next signed by the Baltimore Ravens, but waived two days later. The Philadelphia Eagles saw potential in Dicker and signed him onto their practice squad. Making an impact while replacing the injured Jake Elliott, Dicker scored two field goals during his debut game against the Arizona Cardinals. This led to him being named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week.

Dicker found his next opportunity with the Los Angeles Chargers who signed him to their practice squad and later put him on their active roster to replace the injured Dustin Hopkins. During an 11 game rookie season, Dicker completed all 24 extra point attempts and succeeded in 21 of 22 field goal attempts which earned him a place on the PFWA All-Rookie Team.

After Hopkins was traded to the Browns before the season, Dicker officially became the Chargers’ kicker. Despite a loss against the Buffalo Bills in Week 16, Dicker made a significant contribution by making five field goals. On August 30, 2024, he secured a four-year contract extension with the Chargers demonstrating his critical place in the team.
