Trey Lyles is an American professional basketball player for the San Antonio Spurs of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was born on November 5th, 1995 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada to parents Kim and Archie Lyles. Trey has two siblings – an older brother named Archie Jr., and a younger sister named Ashley.

Trey first began playing basketball at a young age of six years old, when his father enrolled him in youth leagues across Canada. At the age of eight Trey moved with his family to Indianapolis, Indiana where he attended Arsenal Technical High School. While attending high school he played varsity basketball for four years and was rated as one of the top 25 players in his class by ESPNU’s Top 100 rankings list. In 2014 he declared himself eligible for college recruiting after being ranked number 15 overall by Rivals.com that same year and later committing to play basketball at Louisville University under legendary head coach Rick Pitino.

After playing one season at Louisville Trey decided it would be best to pursue a career in professional sports rather than continuing college play so he entered the 2015 NBA draft following his freshman year where he was selected twelfth overall by Utah Jazz who held their own against contenders like Kobe Bryant’s Los Angeles Lakers that season under then-head coach Quin Snyder. After spending two seasons with Utah Jazz Trey signed a three year deal worth $40 million with Denver Nuggets prior to 2017-2018 NBA season but was traded midseason from Denver Nuggets to Atlanta Hawks along with Mike Muscala before eventually finding his way back home being traded from Atlanta Hawks just days later back into contention as part of San Antonio Spurs team alongside LaMarcus Aldridge during 2018-2019 NBA Season; they had advanced far enough into playoffs until they were eliminated 4th round by Golden State Warriors led by Steph Curry and Kevin Durant respectively..
